See All ReviewsWhat a great gem. La bistro has everything I could possibly ask for. The ambience, service and food is outstanding. We took a dear friend out for her birthday and we had Ally was our server. It was a Thursday night so it was not crowded. Garlic bread and a cup of homemade chicken noodle soup started my evening while my wife had the salad with the house dressing. "Filet on a rock" is a unique experience. The beautiful filet is served with potatoes and fresh vegetables. My wife was in charge of cooking the filet on the 900 degree stone while I shared my lasagna entree with her. Circling back to the server Ally. Ally was the hit of the evening. It's rare today to find good old fashioned service. Ali had us laughing all night. We ended the evening with a birthday cake celebration. The "Filet On The Rock" has always been our draw to this quaint dining experience. Now we have a great server Ally to make it even more over the top special.
TLDR: Cool place, good food, but they need a better reservation system and their menus need to be updated to match prices. My wife and I went on the Friday before Valentine’s Day. We didn’t have a reservation and we knew it’d be busy, but we thought we’d give it a shot. When we got there, the host was sitting reservations first, which makes total sense. His system though was just asking “who’s next” and seating who spoke up first, which didn’t seem very organized. He told us and a few other couples without reservations to wait by the bar and he’d get us in 10-15 minutes. After an hour of waiting and chatting with the very friendly bar tender, we decided to order our food and eat at the bar. Food was very good. When we got the bill we noticed the prices were higher than what the menu said by a few dollars. Overall, would go back just not on a busy night. It doesn’t seem like they have the organization to predict when you’ll be seated if there are reservations.
Avoid this place on Valentine’s Day. It doesn’t matter if you make a reservation, you will be standing in line for 30 minutes to an hour, past your reservation time. Even if you get there early. Service was not great. We could hear our server interact with tables around us, and when he got to us, his tone completely changed; dull, quick, and rushing away. The restaurant was very smoky! My eyes were burning. Never experienced that. Also, a heads up if you come on Valentine’s Day, you have to order the four course menu, $100 per person. There is no other menu to order from and you can’t order individual items unless it’s alcohol. The food was not worth $100 pp. I feel scammed. Side note - this is not a diverse environment…
